Frequently Asked Questions

Who can ride?

Guests operating the bikes must be at least 16 years of age, but a driver license is not required.  Passengers riding with a paying guest must be at least 48" tall.

The speed of the bikes is affected by passenger weight.  Bikes are rated for a maximum of 350 lbs for optimal performance.

What should I bring?

We will provide you with a helmet, but you may want to bring a skull cap, durag, baseball cap or other head covering for your comfort.   We  recommend sunscreen and sunglasses for daytime rides.

Closed toe shoes are required and short dresses/skirts are not recommended because of the Marilyn Monroe effect that riding down the road will have.

There will be photo ops on the tour, so feel free to bring your phone, but they will be stashed while we're in motion.

Is this safe?

Absolutely!  Our electric bikes top out at less than 20 miles per hour.  We travel in a pack ("gang") so that we are more visible to cars.  You are with an experienced tour guide for the duration of your ride with us and we have back-up crew who can come to the rescue if needed.  Jax Rides is fully insured and practices the highest level of safety at all times.

You gals are fun and all, but I want to take the bike out on my own; can I?

We really are fun, I promise!  Jax Rides offers a really cool experience for its guests and isn't in the business of equipment rental.  We aren't set up to rent out our bikes so you're stuck with us for now!

How long is the tour?

Depending on the preferences of the group, our tour route varies.  You can expect the tour to last for 90 to 120 minutes on average.  We are able to accommodate customization for the tour, so feel free to let us know what you want!

Can I book a private tour?

Our tours currently max out at 5 guests per tour so we offer an intimate party with lots of one-on-one attention.  If you would like a more private tour, we are happy to accommodate; please reach out to us for more information!

Weather Policy

For the safety of guests and our equipment, Jax Rides reserves the right to cancel a tour due to inclement weather such as significant rain, high gusts of wind or lightning.  Jax Rides will make every effort to reschedule your tour at a mutually convenient time.  At the owners’ sole discretion, guests who demonstrate a hardship in rescheduling the tour may be eligible for a refund.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Guests are eligible for a full refund for cancellations which take place at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled tour date and time.  Guests canceling with less than 48 hours notice, but more than 24 hours notice are eligible to reschedule their tour for another available date and time at no additional cost.  In the event of a cancellation with less than 24 hours notice, no refund or credit will be issued and the guest forfeits all monies paid for their reservation.

Right of Refusal

Driving under the influence is the least cool thing you can do.  We have a zero-tolerance policy for operating our bikes while impaired.  Jax Rides reserves the right to refuse service to any guest who arrives for a tour under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication which causes the guest to be in an altered or impaired state of mind.  If you are refused service due to arriving impaired, you will not receive a refund or a rain check.  Don't make me bring the heavy, 'kay?
